It’s Saturday morning and I’m watching the NBA playoffs. The game cuts to a commercial break and I see a spot which shows golf superstar, Tiger Woods, dressed in a spacesuit and hitting golf balls from space. I wonder, “What’s it like to hit a golf ball in outerspace?”
Well, my question has been answered…sort of. Creative agency, Element 79, selected BLITZ to develop an engaging online game, and accompanying ad units to extend the brand experience and support the Gatorade Tiger campaign that was already in progress. We created “Moonshot,” which challenges players to destroy space debris by hitting golf balls from different planets, and advancing to the next level. The higher you score, the better your chances of appearing on the leaderboard.
The banners are interactive in that they tease the first level of the game. Users who click to expand the banner can play one level of the game, and then are invited to play the full game on the Gatorade Tiger Website.

Enid Burns, a writer for Click-Z News, wrote an article about the game, and interviewed Ken Martin about our work and how we were chosen by Element 79 to create “Moonshot.”
Immerse yourself, and see how well you can hit a golf ball in space. Cheers

Wow, that’s a hard game. And not hard in the good way – hard in the “I can’t get past the first stage of the first level” way. The perspective of the objects and the aiming system are too difficult. And once I got past that (on the 14th attempt) the ‘long shot’ sliced off backwards?!
You sure you didn’t make things too hard?
Ken and Ivan,
It was great working on this project with your team. You were the perfect partners to deliver the results that both EA and the brand team were striving for. I hope to work with you guys again soon!
